Meet the Kincade brothers: they'll do what it takes to protect their legacy—but what happens when love gets in the way?

Declan Kincade has spent so much time chasing success he's almost forgotten how to just live. Lately, though, his all-business routine has been thrown into disarray. Brooke Hastings is the best employee Dec's ever had: polished, capable, and intelligent. After four years, he's just realized that she's also smoking hot. But their working relationship is too valuable to stake on a fling, no matter how mind-bendingly pleasurable it promises to be . . .

What's worse than never meeting the right man? Finding him, and then working side-by-side every day while he remains absolutely blind to your existence. That is, until one temptation-packed road trip changes everything. Teaching her gorgeous, driven boss how to cut loose and have fun is the toughest challenge Brooke's ever faced. But it's one that could give both of them exactly what they need, if Dec will take a chance on a perfect—and perfectly unexpected—love . . .

In Terry’s sweet, seductive second Sunshine Creek Vineyard novel (after A Better Man), a longtime smoldering attraction bursts into flames. Famously uptight financial executive Declan Kincade has always been intellectually aware that his extremely capable assistant, Brooke Hastings, is gorgeous, but ever since his brother referred to Brooke as “hot as hell,” Declan’s been feeling lust for her that even he can’t control. Brooke’s been longing for Declan for years, so she’s thrilled to see him finally showing some signs of interest. When he needs to travel from L.A. to Vancouver to take care of family business, she talks him into a shared 15-hour drive up the coast in a red convertible. Declan tries to keep things professional, but his repression and anxiety are no match for Brooke’s determination and effervescence, and readers will cheer her on—as Declan’s rambunctious siblings do—as she breaks out of her peacemaker persona to demand passion without compromise. Terry successfully links her novels without compromising their individuality, and readers can easily start the series here. Endearing, outspoken, quick-witted characters highlight this alluring, well-paced tale. Agent: Kevan Lyon, Marsal Lyon Literary.

The Sunshine Creek Vineyard series continues with a fun-filled road trip that is definitely not safe for work.High-powered investor Declan Kincade needs to go back to his family's vineyard to tie up loose ends after his parents' deaths, but it's hard to take time off to mourn when his company is about to open a second branch in another state. When his loyal employee Brooke Hastings offers to ride with him from their office in Southern California to Vancouver, he has to admit he could use the help keeping track of his clients while he gets the vineyard back in shape. What he can't admit is that he's had a crush on Brooke for years. In addition to a demanding job, he's burdened with family secrets that are too troubling to share. But if Brooke can convince him to open up, his business trip might be pleasurable for them both. Brooke's refreshing lack of professionalism is the perfect foil for Declan's all-work-and-no-play lifestyle as she forces him out of the office and into a series of adorable seaside inns and romantic cabins, where she tries to get him to create a bucket list and check a few items off her own. Sunshine Creek Vineyard, home to endless bottles of wine, a delicious bakery, rolling hills, and Declan's many hot brothers, is a perfect escape that's worth a return visit in future books. Brooke must be diligent to get her boss to play with her--and the heart-melting ending is well worth the effort.

As far as Declan Kincade is concerned, it is all his brother Jordan's fault. Until Jordan casually mentioned just how sexy his executive assistant really is, Dec never really gave Brooke Hastings a second thought. Now all Dec can think about is what it might be like to kiss Brooke senseless. However, since Brooke is integral to the success of Dec's financial business, Dec knows that getting personally involved with her would be a big mistake. Yet logic takes a backseat to passion when Dec and Brooke take a road trip together, and Dec discovers just how satisfying it can be to mix business with pleasure. In the second effervescent installment in her delightful Sunshine Creek Vineyard series, Terry (A Better Man, 2016) takes a classic romance trope and deftly imbues it with her own distinctive brand of zingy humor, emotional depth, and plenty of sizzling sensuality.(Reprinted with permission of Booklist, copyright 2017, American Library Association.)
